WHAT TO SEE IN TRAPANI?<\/h3>\n

Begin your tour of Trapani by visiting the Fountain of Saturn<\/strong> and the Clock Tower<\/strong>, then head to the Church of Purgatory<\/strong>. Visit the Cathedral of San Lorenzo<\/strong>, then continue towards the typical\u00a0Piazza del Mercato del Pesce<\/strong>. Take a walk on the Tramontana Walls<\/strong> and visit the Ligny Tower<\/strong> with its Civic Museum<\/strong>. Finally, reach the Castello della Colombaia.<\/strong>\u00a0Add to your itinerary the Impossible<\/strong>\u00a0Bastione, <\/strong>so called because part of it is built on the sea, on an island, but connected to the mainland by a bridge. Another stop to make is the\u00a0Sanctuary of Maria Santissima Annunziata<\/strong>. Outside the historic center there are also the Salt pans of Marsala<\/strong> with the Salt Museum.<\/strong><\/p>\n

TRAPANESI SPECIALTIES<\/h3>\n

The appetizers are many and they are so good! From the\u00a0arancine<\/strong> and panelle<\/strong>\u00a0to the aubergine caponata<\/strong>, the vastedda<\/strong> (sheep’s milk cheese) of Belice Valley and the black bread of Castelvetrano<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

If you want a first course of pasta, you can choose between\u00a0busiate al pesto trapanese<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0pasta with sea urchins,<\/strong> or you can try the cabucio trapanese <\/strong>(stuffed loaves of bread).<\/p>\n

Among the second courses are fish recipes<\/strong>, especially tuna<\/strong>. Don’t miss couscous<\/strong> or red prawns<\/strong>! As a traditional meat-based dish, the Trapanese rolls<\/strong> are worth tasting.<\/p>\n
