WHAT TO SEE IN TRAPANI?
Begin your tour of Trapani by visiting the Fountain of Saturn and the Clock Tower, then head to the Church of Purgatory. Visit the Cathedral of San Lorenzo, then continue towards the typical Piazza del Mercato del Pesce. Take a walk on the Tramontana Walls and visit the Ligny Tower with its Civic Museum. Finally, reach the Castello della Colombaia. Add to your itinerary the Impossible Bastione, so called because part of it is built on the sea, on an island, but connected to the mainland by a bridge. Another stop to make is the Sanctuary of Maria Santissima Annunziata. Outside the historic center there are also the Salt pans of Marsala with the Salt Museum.
In the surroundings of Trapani you will admire the enchanting beach of San Vito Lo Capo, the Zingaro Nature Reserve, the ruins of Segesta and the village of Erice. If you have time, go to the discovery of the Egadi Islands.
TRAPANESI SPECIALTIES
The appetizers are many and they are so good! From the arancine and panelle to the aubergine caponata, the vastedda (sheep’s milk cheese) of Belice Valley and the black bread of Castelvetrano.
If you want a first course of pasta, you can choose between busiate al pesto trapanese and pasta with sea urchins, or you can try the cabucio trapanese (stuffed loaves of bread).
Among the second courses are fish recipes, especially tuna. Don’t miss couscous or red prawns! As a traditional meat-based dish, the Trapanese rolls are worth tasting.
Finish off with a sweet treat. You can choose among cannoli, cassatelle with ricotta, genovesi and granite or ice cream with brioche.
Accompany the meal with an excellent wine such as Marsala.

The bus leave from the Port of Trapani, via Ammiraglio Staiti 13, close to the Customs Office Building and in front of the travel agency ‘Egatour’, which is also a Buscenter and Segesta ticket sale point.
The drop-off stop is past the agency Egatour and beyond the Customs Office Building.
